You can not modify the Default Layout of accounts without having to set up a new layout of accounts. On the other hand, you can not create the new account that is under the heading Intangible Asset. It is because the category type does not contain that kind of account. If you really want to set up it, you can create a new account such as “Intangible Asset” in the Fixed asset category and the range I suggest that the range is between 1250 to 1259. But, you should check that is it contain any available space which I suggested before. If you do that, you can create your own account such as goodwill in the general ledger.
