This is a supplement of what I post before. I like to tell user not to mix the cheque issuance and settlement entry User should note that the cheuqe issuance is not related to settlement. cheque issue depending on TO-DAY BUY/SELL balance which may be 'contra' or 'not to contra'. In contra case, the net amount of Buy/Sell will be printed on cheque.Note that the balance due on the previous date will not be used to offset this amount. If no contra is allowed, only sold note amount will be printed. i.e. disregarding there are bought note or due on previous date. Up to now, user can not see any relationship between cheque printing with settlement. When a client come to collect cheque, broker firm should check if the client has balance due. User can use 7-5 Portfolio Evaluation to check if the client has balance due. Settlement is done via 3-5-1 (except those user who use Auto-settle module in which case, no need to perform 3-5-1) For user who has Bank Book Module, 3-5-1 allow user to enter the rec'd amount and apply this amount to specified contract note amount. If need, user can printout balance cheque. For user who has no bank book module, 3-5-1 allow user to mark those contract to be settled. Whan a client bring in a cheque which was issued by this company, and we call it RETURN CHEQUE. The system consider a RETURN CHEQUE as a good cheque and accept it as cash. If the amount is not exactly same as the contract note amount, user should prepare manual cheque for the difference. If the amount is less then the contract note, the contract note will be deemed as partially settled. Since user mark this contract note as settle, the system will consider it as fully settled. Therefore, user should specify the contract note number if partially settlement is occured. If user has a bank book module, he/she can specify the receipt as RETURN CHEQUE, and if there are interest accured, user can use the amount received to settle interest.
