Use the capture program to read print out report and use program to decode the
information
and add to the master file. In principle,whatever available from report can be captured.
However, due to manpower shortage,only the client master and stock balance can be
converted
to SB.
Procedure:-
1. At the BOS PC, copy the PRINTCAP.COM program from floppy into C:\DOS then run the
PRINTCAP program.
Note the 2 hot keys:-
LShift-Alt-P for start print capture
LShift-Alt-Q for stop print capture
Do not start print capture at this moment
3. From the Main Menu, first obtain the 'Client List' :-
Select 10. Master File Maintenance

1. Client Account Master by code
before selecting range of records, press <LShift><Alt>P to
initiate print capture
4. When the report is printed out, exit the BOS program and CD \DOS, press
<LShift><Alt>Q
for stop print capture. use DIR command to find out the captured text file
and rename
this file to CLMAST.TXT
Note: Margin Client interest, unsettlement... is not available for
convertion.
5. Copy the text file CLMAST.TXT (you may use PKZIP to compress it)and copy to the SB
PC,
in the same directory of SB, e.g.
CD \SB
COPY A:CLMAST.TXT (or appropiate command)
6. Copy the Foxplus programs into the SB PC, and copy the 2 conversion programs
CONVBSCL.PRG
& CONVBSPF.PRG into SB also.
Now run FOXPLUS and on the 'Dot' prompt,
Try to make sure there is a DBF file call TEXT.DBF, or copy the TEXT.DBF file
from floppy
disk also.
Now key in :- DO CONVBSCL to perform the conversion of client master
7. Next return to the BOS PC, re-execute the BOS program to obtain another report --
Stock
Holding by Stock Report In the BOS Main Menu,
Select 3. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
9. Stock Holding by Stock Report
Next press <LShift><Alt>P to initiate print capture.
8. Exit the BOS program, CD \DOS and find out the new print capture file and rename it
to
PFMAST.TXT. Next copy this text file to floppy.
